Vacuuming will only remove soils near the top of the carpet fibers. Up to several pounds of dirt and debris can still be hiding under your carpets. The professionals at Calgary Carpet Care are trained to remove dirt and debris that the average eye cannot see. To better protect your family from dirt and allergens, let us safely and effectively clean and sanitize your carpets so they look like new.
The best way to ensure healthy and allergen free home is to have carpets professionally cleaned every 6 to 12 months. Homes with young kids and pets may require cleaning as early as 6 months depending on the level of soil and how much traffic the carpet sees. Most homes get their carpets cleaned on avergae every 9 months.
Depending on the material of your carpet, we suggest allowing three to twelve hours to completely dry. However, if necessary, you may be able to walk on your carpet immediately after we are finished cleaning.
When pets urinate on carpet or upholstery, it can seep deep down inside and bacteria may begin to grow. Stains often form if not treated immediately. Our specially trained technicians can get down deep into all the layers of your carpet or upholstery and attempt to get to the root of the odor then clean it, sanitize it, and protect it. Keep in mind that animal urine that is left untreated for an extended period of time may cause permanent damage.
Yes! Our Carpet Protector is your first line of defense after we finish cleaning your carpet. To protect the life of your carpets, you should have the protector reapplied once per year.
The single most important thing is to vacuum regularly and thoroughly. Todays carpeting is designed to hide soil particles by reflecting light and they do an excellent job of it. However, soil particles that are left in the carpet and not removed by vacuuming can damage the carpet fibers and result in a soiled or dull contrast after time. Carpet protectant such as Scotchgard will help keep your carpet from soiling rapidly and extend the life of your carpet investment. Door mats at each entrance also significantly reduce soil tracked into the main living areas of your home. Clean up spills promptly to avoid them from becoming permanent stains. And of course regular professional cleaning will keep your carpets looking great for many years to come.
We use hot water extraction, better known as steam cleaning to clean your carpeting. This process injects a high pressure, high temperature cleaning or rinse solution deep into your carpet and then is extracted with our powerful vacuum from our truck-mounted cleaning unit. Most carpet manufacturers recommend this method when having your carpets professionally cleaned.
We sometime get calls from customers stating that stains or spots has reappeared the day after the cleaning process. This is usually due to the nature and the chemical makeup of the stain. Deeper stains usually come back when they have reached the backing of the carpet. Therefore, there is little that can be done to reverse the stain. Our recommendation is to always treat stains when they are fresh either by doing it yourself or calling a professional carpet cleaner.
You should remove all the light furnitures such as chairs and end table. Preferbaly vacuum the surface twice to remove as much as soil from carpet fabric which will result in even deeper cleaning from using the professional carpet cleaner. There are many carpet cleaning professionals who will offer this as part of their service, so it may be worth talking to them beforehand if its included in the service.

This is a personal choice. Some customers prefer steam cleaning over dry cleaning methods due to the fact that steam cleaning works for surface and penetration cleaning. As a result, it makes it possible to remove even deeper stains that are embedded on the surface of the carpet and further into the fibers, where the bacteria tends to linger. Our recommendation is to your cleaning professional about the pros and cons of both cleaning methods.
